I am an experienced GIS analyst with a background in geo-informatics, agronomy, hydrology, and soil sciences. I graduated in 2009 as an engineer in agricultural sciences, and join the GIS lab of the University of San Carlos de Guatemala, where I developed my skills and knowledge. In 2013, I obtained an M.Sc. in Geo-informatics in the ITC Faculty of the University of Twente. Currently, I am in the last stage for completing a PhD in the field of geo-information processing in smart cities. During the last 10 years, I have trained people in the use of GIS in de disciplines of land administration, and environmental engineering. I have supported researchers in the application of spatial analysis, and remote sensing in the fields of forestry, hydrology and environmental engineering. I am a person with a strong sense of responsibility and I always have shown dedication in my previous jobs, which include GIS consultant, lecturer, researcher, and project assistant.

In 2014, I created GIP rePUBlic, a Ph.D. club in my faculty. Together, we organized intellectual activities to promote cohesion among Ph.D. candidates. I also was part of the board of pITCom, the Ph.D. association of the faculty of Twente, as a result, I published my negotiation and communication skills.

I like running. Currently,  I prefer long-distance runner. In 2016, I ran the Amsterdam marathon and in 2017 the Enschede Half-marathon. I have also participated with my team in several editions of the Batavierenrace. Among other things, I like copperplate calligraphy and classic poetry.
